Default tap train?

exactly how do i do this for my BCI she is just over a year old now and getting bigger so far iv just been tapping her on the head before getting her out but no when feeding her.

is it just as simple as that?

Pretty much, but BCI's are generally speaking very placid and do not require tap training, it more the fiesty retics and burms.

Basically i think it is..really just so they know..if you tap them, your going to handle them whatever!! And if you dont, means food!! The big snake keepers will let us know for sure when they get home though...im intrested to find out too!

why not tap wen your going to feed...less often and not a problem if you forget to...???

yeah im waiting for dextersdad or the like to fill me in on this one =]

il need to learn how to do it properly any way if im ever goin to get a retic one day

i just use my snake hook to touch my retics near the head before picking up so they know its me, and if they are in bad mood you have hook there to help control head before actually touching snake, if you were doing it other way round as has been suggested and tap trained for food the snake may mistake you touching it for food and strike ,not something i wish for when mine are adults, i got tagged by my male a few weeks ago when i was checking temps in viv with new digital thermometer, didnt tap with hook as wasnt picking him up but just placing probe in viv and wham he struck but didnt hold on as he realised wasnt food. pics are in picture section titled retic bit me
