Question royal with mites

hi
i went to pick up my new royal today and oh no hes got mites
the shop is treating him and going to keep him till hes clear and eating
iv got 1 royal and 3 corns at home and we have never had mites so i my question is should i keep the new guy on his own for a while and is there anything i will need to do for him ??

Well its good the shop is treating him & not sent him home with you, when its cleared up and you do take him home, keep him away from the other snakes for a good couple of weeks, just to make sure the mites are gone & if you do touch him make sure you use that special hand gel, sorry cant remember what its called, before you touch any other snakes or anything else for that matter. Good luck with him, be nice to see a pic of him.

You should quarantine any new reptile even if the shop are clearing of mites before you bring it home. Preferably in a seperate room, and always clean/handle that one after you have finished with your others to further avoid spreading any infections or diseases.
