Default Copper corn

I have a pair of corn snakes which were sold to me as caramel/copper corns. Does anyone know what a copper corn is supposed to be? Is this just a fancy name for caramel. I've had these from hatchlings and always meant to ask. I've read a lot of stuff about corns and corn morphs in the interveening years, but never found a reference to 'copper corns'. Is this just a whim, like people calling anerys silver or black corns? Or do I hold the key to rare unknown genetics!!

there is a guy about called Alan Stotton who produced pure corn coppers a few years back..
I was actually on the phone to him about 6 months ago talking about it all, and got cut off... never did get back to him.. DOH must think i'm well ignorant lol.

Ah!

Never considered they may be a cross!

I'll try to post a picture then you can have a look.

I've just mated them for the first time this year so there may be more of them soon!

They don't look like they've got anything other than corn in them from the markings, but they are an interesting colour and not remotely the same shade as my other caramel which I have purchased since!

Have seen pics of a caramel similar shades to mine on the internet, so I'm going for plain caramel corn but I'll try to get a picture later anyway!

i thought that copper is another name given to the rootbeer, mainly in the uk. they are a great plains cross corn snake, just like a creamsicle except a creamsicle is the amel version. a copper/rootbeer is genetically a normal, there shouldn't be caramel in there. however their appearance is slightly different to regular normal or 'classic' corns because of the hybrid- just like most creamsicles have a more peachy tone to them than a pure corn amel.

They were sold as caramel/copper so they may be a caramel crossed with a copper, I don't know. The shop I bought them from freely acknowledged that his knowledge of corn morphs would fit on a postage stamp and therefore couldn't give any more info.

They certainly don't look anything like the rootbeer/copper pics I can find anyway!

I would assume that if they were SOLD AS a hybrid that they ARE hybrids.

Better that a pure animal is labelled a hybrid than that a hybrid is labelled as a pure animal.
