Default royal viv habitats

does anyone have keep their royal in a naturalistic habitat?

me and the husband have just had a bit of a go at creating an african savanah habitat in Edwards new viv that we've just moved him into. it's fairly basic atm, would love to get some scrub grasses put in, but that'll be next month now after next pay day.

if anyone's got any decent pics of their naturalistic royal python vivs i'd really like to see them, so please post them here.

i'm a little nervous about putting pics up, you never know if you're going to get ripped into or not.

so here goes......

our attempt at a savanah viv

the water bowl is way too big, but it'll do for now, and it's better than the other one he had which is too little

edwards "burrow" mound, you can just about see his little cave. don't worry it's half the top of a cat box with exo terra background attached to the front to make it look more like a natural cave.

and finally, here's a picture of edward in his "burrow"

all this is based on vids and picures of royals in the wild.

if anyone ripps into that then screw them

Its really good, much more of a natural environment for a royal than newspaper and plastic, even better than bark chips and cork bark

well done, can I suggest one thing though? get a digital thermometer, those dial ones are notoriously inaccurate.

my digi is currently monitoring my incubator, so i need to buy another one as soon as i get chance.

i'd like to get some scrub plants put in there as well, but again thats going to have to wait.

he's loving it atm, he's starting to come out of his burrow, he's staring at the cat who's sat on a chair near the viv. he seems much more confortable that he did in his rub, where he just sat on wood ship curled inder cork bark doing nothing ever!! hehe so i'm glad he seems to like it if no-one else does, thats all that matters.

i can get my hand in the hole, and if for whatever reason i'm not able to get through the hole (like he's being narkey and might bite) i canpush the sand off and lift the hide out, et vola, access to the snake, lol.
