Default HELP!! What size ceramic heater?

Hi everyone. New to the forum. Looking forward to some shared knowledge and experience. Im setting up a 3 ft wide, 2 ft high, 18 inch deep glass enclosure and am going to be running it with a stat and ceramic heater. Need some advice on the best size of heater to use, 60, 100, 150 watt etc. Thanks, Pete.

100 watt will be fine for a 3' viv.
I use a 150 watt lamp in my 4x2x2 viv
The only thing I would advice against is using a glass viv......wood or melamine is much better.
You will lose a lot of heat in a glass viv so 150 watt maybe better.
You will also need to use a pulse or dimming stat with a ceramic.

Hi Paul, Thanks for that. Its for an amazon tree boa, so I was thinking that glass was probably best to maintain high humidity without affecting the tank. I have an exo terra viv that can cope with up to 250 watts so I think I'll give the 150 a go? Also running off a Habistat pulse pro stat. Pete

maybe right there mate.....you did not say what you were keeping
stat sounds spot on.....and 150watt lamp as well
Just remember the viv will only get as hot as the stat tells it to

so 100w in a 3ft x 15 x 18 high is ok with a microclimate B1 dimming thermostat?

it says that a microclimate B1 is 600w max sooo...
I'm told a ball/royal python needs " belly heat" so i use a heat mat cover with a piece of linoleum to prevent "burn scares"

its said that the temp should drop about 10F at night i.e from 88f at day to 78f at night.
so if a microclimate can handle 600w, could i "in theory" get a double plug and plug in the mat and the ceramic bulb in to the same dimming thermostat? them both would only be ab out 130w max together?

this would solve the above and bellow heat and at night id just turn down the heat 10f and both mat and ceramic would alter at the same time??
