Default Euthenasia Question??????

Has anyone had to do it? If so, How is it done???
What would be the best way to put a snake down, so to speak???
I have a sick ETB and i may have to think about the best thing for the snake. So wondering what i may have to do.

I'd say take it to a vet to be done, so that nobody can accuse you of doing anything you shouldn't have! But most likely depending on the size of the snake, they euthanise by either overdose of barbiturates, decapitation, or severing the spinal cord (following a local anaesthetic to ensure it is totally painless).

Has the snake been taken to a vet? If my snake was in bad pain and dieing i would take care of that myself(if there was no way to save it of course) maybe get a a vet to take a look and see if the vet can do it?

Will have to take it to the vet on tuesday. The snake has been ill since it was sold to me and although has improved it has recently deteriated.
It is currently bloated and unable to poo, it feels like it is full of liquid.
It has been through a shed cycle a week ago and not yet shed.
It has had RI symptoms on and off for months, even after a few courses of Fortum and various vet visits.
I am just preparing my self for the worst and will see what a vet says tuesday

Been rading and have seen info pointing these symptoms towards IBD. I also don't my other snakes in my collection to suffer

Poor thing
When my lizard was sick I brought him to work (Animal clinic) they injected euthanol into his heart. It doesn't sound so nice but it's more humane then leaving them to suffer..

We had to have our rescued beardie put to sleep at the beginning of the year and the vet did it with an injection of barbituates. Sometimes, although you may not want to, it's the most humane thing you can do.
Sorry your snake is sick.
If you are worried it is IBD tell this to your vet. It is vital you get a post-mortem done. It is the only way to confirm IBD and you NEED to know if the rest of your collection is at risk.
Has the ETB been quarantined away from your other animals?
As far as I am aware IBD only affects boids and pythons but it can even be carried by using the same equipment so if it does turn out to be IBD everything needs to be destroyed.
I know it sounds scary but that is why a PM is so important.
I hope it's not.
Good luck.

With reptiles due to their known resistance to barbituates, they inject them with a MASSIVE overdose straight into the heart, and they're then frozen/refridgerated for at least two hours to slow their system down and prevent them fighting the dose.
