Have done braining, changing size and changing colour. have also raised temp in viv. He is still not eating. Luckily, I just passed my driving test, so I'll bring him for a spin in a few days and offer another rat.

Question???? How long can you leave the rat there for him to eat safely???? I have left 24 hours so far and then removed as I guess it is going off..... Is there a guideline on this??? I know they sometimes eat rotting stuff in the wild but it can't be good for anyone...?!?!??!

PS: What do you do with your uneaten rats/mice??????

Just curious!!!! Lol

dont leave the food in the viv for longer than 24 hours, once removed dispose of in the normal manner that all other waste is diposed of, i tend to feed my snakes on a sunday as bin day is tuesday mornings, so if i have any waste after 24 hours i can bag it up and put in wheelie bin to be taken next day - saves letting it rot in the bin for a few days.

thnks for the 24 hour thing - I sort of felt it was sensible lol.

You put the poor rats in the bin???? Am I the only one who buries them???? Poor little things dying for nothing when bloody snake won't even eat them.........

Dunno it just seems so wrong to throw a little life into the rubbish to me!!!!

He still hasn't eaten but I haven't taken him for a drive yet. Think it'll be a trip to the vet if that doesn't work.....

well when u have cats n dogs in the garden, its not good to bury stuff and when u chucking 3-4 every time u feed its easier to bin them.

My Hoggie has not eaten in four weeks, just seems to acknowledge the mouse is there and ignore it, not like her !

good thread

with my royals ive also found that its best and get better results by

waiting for all lights to go off in vivs and room leaving them 1 hr and then sneaking in with warm food mice gerbils rats , and this compared to day feeding is 95% more success rate

so night feeding is the way forward
