Snake Breeder
The site above has good tongs, I got a pair off the long ones and itrs great for feeding my royal. They are like surgical ones, perfect for gripping small and large mice, and keeping hands out of the way.

something else to try and i've had great sucess with, try removing the water dish from your snake the nite before you feed your problem eaters then the next day when you go to feed your snake dip the head of the food item into water so you get lft with a drop of water on the nose of the food item, gently lower this to your snake trying to touch the droplet to the snakes nose. you should see the snake drink the droplet and depending on your snake either a strike or the snake starting to eat the food item should follow. i've used this on pythons, boas, milks, kings and corns and had about a 95% sucess rate. not sure why it works but it does for me, don't know if it gives the snake a stronger taste of the food item or if it washes off human scent but i've used it often in the 17 years i've kept snakes. the only snakes it doesn't seem to work with is wild caught adults and i think thats just a re action to being in captivity. would like to hear from any one who trys this to see if it works for you! hope it helps!!

We tried it on our long term non feeder (18months). After a 15 minute drive in a travel tub, he was placed in his viv in the tub and a fluff was gently placed in there with him... Hey presto within 10 minutes the fluff was gone! We have never seen him eat before as we rescued him as a non-feeder. You cannot imagine our delight!!! So a very big thankyou to Tigger79 for the tips you do not find in the books!
