HI! I have a five yr old corn who is always feed in his viv and i have never had any problems with him and he has never biten anyone even though he has been fed by hand from a hatchling. My boyfriend has recently bought a stunning royal (ball) python. he has little experience of snakes and keeps saying he needs to put the snake in a feeding box to feed him. I think this unnecassary and the snake should be feed from tongs in his cage. Is it best to use a feeding box with royal pythons?

well if you have tried all of the methods, then its down to the last option which will put food in its belly as you are assist/force feeding it

Okay, so he's not interested in fluffs either. So I'm thinking of trying him on a live rodent in the next few days. What's the procedure? Do i just got to a shop and buy one from their pet section? Do I have to quarantine the mouse before hand? any advice appreciated.

read the tips - 2 weeks is nothing and is too short a period to try all tricks and will cause the snake stress if you do try
i would recommend you leave the snake alone for 2 weeks just change water every 3 days, then offer a feed also how often are u trying to feed the snake.

03/04 - He ate small rat 10/04 - I offered him a second to no avail. So I brained it and left it in the viv overnight. 12/04 - I tried him on a chick thinking a change might be in order. He was interested at first, but only in what it was, not in eating it. 14/04 - Took him for a short drive. Tried him with a mouse, with a bit of bedding in the corner. 17/04 - Tried him with fluffs, again left in overnight. I'll take your advice and leave off for a another week or two. I'm just a bit concerned that he was previously underfed and whilst he is still active and curious, he has a ridge running along his back. Also, I've never had a kingsnake that wasn't voracious with feeding so it threw me a bit.
