Make sure ambient temps are up in mid 20's, and try scenting with Trout. Good luck

right i know this is a bit late on in the thread but iv a couple of baby sand boa's, they were sold to me as none feeders, but have got a very fussy eater of a corn that i got feeding great and also got a friends rp feeding, so we have had them about a week now tryed feeding 3 times now, nothing, tryed smaller tubs, cutting the pinkys, scenting them, dryed em out for a few days also, but dident want to leave em to long with them been so young, leaving food in, covering them up, really dont no what else to try, i can say tryed the car thing as well because it was a 4 hour drive home, so....... any surgestions, they are very tiny so can only really eat pinkys, then i have to get the shop to dig in there pinky box for really tiny one's, they r just started to look abit under waight now, but not a worry as yet, any help would be great.

it is safe to pick them up up after feeding as long as you support the bump, usually best to pick up by tail and place hand under bump, then place into head end in viv, letting then go in by then selves, this also helps then push it all the way down,
Im new to all this myself but i have read that its cool to put them bk like that. after feeding my royal i take her out the feedin tub and place her bk in her viv and iv feed her twice since getting her and had no probs.

I only use a feeding tub as i heard that they can confuse between hands and food. she is so layed bk i dont think it would matter with her but all r diff in way or another. thats just my 2eggs
great thread BTW, loads of helpfull stuff and tips

Default Hey

All I do is thaw the rat/mice in sandwich bags in warm water, then when thawed, empty the water and put them back in fresh warm water for 5-10 mins. Then rip open the bags and put onto kitchen roll, rub dry the rats/mice with the kitchen roll and feed. For some reason the large carpet pythons don't really like cold, wet furred rats... When they and towel dried they go all fluffy and they go strate for it! Although recently the largest of my carpet pythons, I was told to feed large/XL rats too every 2 weeks, I stick to this and he has refused a couple of feeds since I've had him... But then he seems to eat the need week. I try not too feed any of my snakes when they are in shed (normally just after)

WINTER - Do I need to of changed anything for any of my reps? As I haven't done so far... If so, what do I need to change? Temps? Length of time their lights are on? How many hours should they have?

Jef.

Hi , New to the forum and just after a bit of advice.

I have two royals both about a 18 months old. I'm just getting a bit worried as neither have eaten for about two months .Neither have been fussy eaters in the past with two weeks being the longest without feeding.

Both seem to be moving around as much as normal and the larger out the two has just had a shed .

I just wondered how how long they can go without feeding without me having to worry.

Thanks in advance Wayne.
