Unhappy Boa Bitten!!!

My precious BCC Scarlet got bitten by a rat!! I went to stayed round my girlfriends flat for the night, and my flat mate thorght he'd feed Scarlett, I have no idea what he did or how big a rat he gave her, But he live fed her in the viv and she got bitten down her face, She how has a scar 1mm deep about 3-4cm down her face, She is very lucky not to loose an eye. I am so upset with him and have kicked my flat mate out because of it. I dont live feed anymore but keep rats in my shed to feed her fresh killed as im slowly getting her back on frozen defrosted. Ive made sure the wound is clean and have seperated her from rocky my other boa to make sure she recovers, Hopefully this will heal in a few sheds but im now worried shell be a bit aggressive as she has allways been a bit sketchy.

Yeah, rats attack your snake if they encountered their enemy.
you make sure the prey dead completely.

and please keep reporting month after and after..how gonna clear up the scar guradualy. It will be very nice report for other keepers.

just make sure you keep the wound clean. Rat bites can easily get infected, oh and slap your (ex)housemate HARD, tell him its from me!

Yer it really p***ed me off and really upset me as id never want any harm to come to any of my snakes. Ill get my camera out later and post pics tomorrow, Im glad it missed her eye, And i know i should have had the viv lock on but i shouldnt have had to, Im guessin she striked at the rat and must have missed the neck/head and the rat got a chomp in. She is fine and i have made sure the bite is clean, But she is gona be scared for life now. Ironic her name is SCARlett. Just checked my shed and it was the largest rat in there (XXXL), as my pregnant female rat is missing, So my rat breeding project is also ruined! Let it a lesson to all who live feed, It is not safe and if you have never had a rat bite your snake, it is only a matter of time and you are temping fate, DO NOT LIVE FEED.
