what the world had to say about the radiated ratsnake

it literally leaps at the aggressor who may even [be] pursued for some distance. If the snake is picked up, it often empties its bowels and bites[;] the bitten part is often chewed on for a while....

I dont think many things scare me as much as a snake which will chase you like an olympic sprinter and then poo all over you as a final insult haha.

I say go for it Laura

I have a pair of them Chimpy... and once they have the wind in their sails ( they inflate their necks a bit like a balloon to make themselves look bigger ) they rarely back down. You need to find something to take their attention away from you. They never seem to bite the hand that you are holding them with, presumably because it is not moving but anything else is fair game.

They also seem to be pretty intelligent and able to predict your next move to some degree. When I change their water bowls in the morning for example, I will come back to find them waiting at the front of the viv because they know the door is going to open again to put the water bowl back in. The also never let you out of their sight when you are in the room ... lol.

The TV works well... basically anything moving. If they are concentrating on my face, then wiggling my fingers out of range of a strike works well, then stop moving when you have their attention and they will calm down. Fast movements are a no no though... it will start all over again.
