You certinaly could with the bulb! The mat is meant to fill 1/3 of the tank. I keep all my mats on the right side of the tank.
Also, was it Aspen? Best substrate for them! I use aspen and they love to burrow in it. |

If it's a wooden viv, fit it to the bottom of the inside, layer it with newspaper then your substrate. To avoid the little guys burning on the actual mat.
Good to see you guys taking so much interest in there care to get everything 100% correct. Don't really see people doing this sadly. |

Thankyou all so much for your good advice, will post back tomorrow when were sorted and try and get some pics asap. Thanks again.

agree with what has been said - don't have a light on all day and night though - if it is for heat or not - all animals need to know the difference between night and day.
Good luck with your snake - this time next year you'll have a house full trust me!!

Do go and read other care sheets and take on other words of wisdom before you listen only to the advice you have been given. I am only saying this from experience and i am sure many would agree.
For instance, I have my corn in a wooden vivarium, 3ft, lots of hides, on an infared heat bulb, (dimming thermostat) etc. I listened to my local rep store, but also read and researched and decided what was best. |
