who do you report a terrible shop too?

just a query,how would i go about reporting a shop?
my local frozen mice shop has never been the best tbh but its the only one local to me,but the other day i went in and they had a new collection of 09 corns in all in little sandwich tubs stacked on an unstatted mat,a few had regurged and one of the lil guys had baked to death and died,normally i just put it down to bad shop husbandry put this has really played on my mind... they are known throughout the northwest for there koi fish...it just disgusted me as i bet you wouldnt see those swimming in crap and a couple of floating dead ones

i would consider the following...

RSPCA firstly re the welfare of animals

Trading standards

Local council they can also investigate and have the power to remove trading licences.


If you see something so bad then you can phone the police on the non emergency number, they will probably send an officer out who probably wouldn't know a snake from a frog - however most people would know if something was really bad. they would evidence this in theior pocket note book and should liase with RSPCA.

In my area i am the officer used for anything reptile now - from searching for drugs in vivariums to handling found reptiles etc.
This is done on a voluntary basis and makes me pretty much contactable 24/7
