Question What life should my FWC lead

Hi i thought i would start this thread to get your views, on my false water cobras next 10 years of her life.

OPTION 1...........

I've heard from many people that a tame and well handelled fwc barely ever hoods.

So i would have a great snake that still looks good.

OPTION 2...........

Now if you leave a fwc alone for along time in isolation would it be more likely to hood in agresion.

so i would have a venomous snake that doesn't like to be touched but still puts on a hell of a show.

OPTION 3...........
Not something i'm gonna do, but thought your vews on this topic may bring this thread to life.

poke the little till it hoods.

I find that FWC's have different personalities, some of mine never hood until provoked other hood all the time and some will hood and then settle down.

yer ive found my falsie to be really tame, but feeding time is another storey... hoodin, strikin, jumpin out the viv, all over the place lol.

But yer if it was me id just handle him, they're crackin snakes, and you just get that little bit more up close and personal.

cheers

And have fun feeding him!

I'll second that... Oh, and it feeds like an absolute monster...

What life should my FWC lead?

A comfortable one ... with as little stress as possible ... deliberately creating an environment or pestering the snake just so you can show off it's defensive behaviour seems a little wrong to me.

So option number 1

People seem to fear FWC because they are Rear Fanged. To be honest, it makes no difference. FWC make a big deal about their threat display, but seem reluctant to strike. Rear Fanged simply means (excepting Booms, Vines, dendrophila) "I'm more proud of my colubrid venom than you are, Ratsnake..."
