Default Couldn't be more annoyed right now!

Ok so i FINALLY manage to convince my mum to let me have a boa and we find a deal of this site from a guy who is going into the army for the snake and viv for £100. We start talking to it about my dad, and he is doing the oo i don't really want one in my house thing and then he is almost convinced and then.. He searches on his laptop, keeping boa constrictors. He clicks on that The Boa page thing. He skips through the whole bit about them being placid and gets to the bit where it sais they can be potentially dangerous animals and should have a person to hand if the snake is over 6ft then is automatically like NO WAY, theres no way were having a giant snake like that in our house, and now he is being really un-reasonable and isn't willing to talk about anything.. It seems I got soooooo close and now I gota start all over again and this time it will be even harder... you The Boa Page!!!

How old are you?

Your Dad has a point, boas get very big and very strong and technically it would be your parents that are responsible for it if you are not an adult

I was a bit like you at that age - it seemed everything my Dad said was geared against me!
I know you've handled a boa, but believe me, they can be a handful if they want to be - snakes are like people and can have 'off days' too.
On the whole boas are placid, but like the Boa Page says, there can be exceptions.
Personally, I think your Dad is doing what he thinks is best for you - after all, you're his responsibility.
You need to experience a feisty boa to really appreciate the speed & power that they actually have - if you saw this for yourself, I don't think you'd be so keen on the idea of a potential 10ft of aggression on your own.

I agree with your dad really. He didn't just say 'no', he did some research and made a decision, its his house after all and he probably worries about his young son.

To be fair mate hes your father and weather you agree or disagree with him, you must respect his view and if his word is final then you need to respect that.

How do you know you will be moved out when your 18 anyway?
Your dads actually looking out for you. Ever thought he might actually cheerish you and not want to risk his son being in real danger from his own pet snake?

work on him, go to other shops and keepers and learn together and such, you might both have a keen interest in them...he might not be interested in snakes but doesnt mean hes not interested in your own interests.
Being a dad can be one of the hardest jobs...he doesnt say no to make you feel upset...its because he believe he knows best and until you have been in his shoes you cant comment mate

Agree with the above.

It's his house.

Until you hit 18 he's responsible for you and your well being.

By having a tantrum you've demonstrated that you're possibly not mature enough?

Why not wind your neck in and prove to your dad you're up to the challenge and it's nothing to be worried about?
