Thats seems like a reasonable question to me. The bites are the result of having had a relatively blase attitude towards this species from keeping them for over 6 years and raising a large number of hatchlings over the past few months. This is the danger of overfamiliarity! This particular bite occured whilst trying to grab the snake to assist feed it, at this size I don't particularly enjoy pinning so was prepared to risk a few bites - lesson learned.

Cheers,
David.

Regardless of the reasons for getting bitten, it's a worthwhile reminder to others of the potential result of a bite from these. Thanks for posting.

I understand what your saying completely mate...with reguards to breeding mangroves, its ever so easy to overlook a hatchling, and when your assit feeding and there wriggling around, simple mistakes can happen in seconds...while they havent for me i can understand where your coming from

Before anyone jumps on him let it be known that David is not an idiot, he is the complete opposite. I have seen his collection of tubs and know he is more than capable of proper husbandry and if he says this was an accident then it was.

I got ya back bro!!!
