Why are you against people who have lost their pet having justice?
They deserve justice. The snake should never have been left unattended.
By all means petition against restrictions on reptile keepers but if a pitbull was running around unattended and bit your kid - you'd want justice.
Sorry but I think thats a very different scenario, a Burm cant be compared to a pit bull. Plus I would take responsibility for my cat err I mean kid trespassing if it was.

Because what the owners of Wilbur (the cat) are asking for is NOT justice. The snake was left unattended in its owners garden. Granted, this wasn’t exactly exemplary behaviour on the part of the snake owner, but the cat was also left unattended by its owners…and furthermore, the cat wasn’t on its owner’s property. So, who’s more responsible for this tragic event; the person who leaves their animal unattended on their own property, or the person who leaves their animal unsupervised to the extent that it leaves their property and enters the property of someone else?

If a pit-bull was literally running around the streets and bit my child you bet I’d want justice…but if my child climbed over a fence into my neighbours garden and then got bitten by their dog which was in their garden then I’d be telling my kids off for trespassing!!

The snake was in it's own garden, so it's not even close to a pitbull running around unnattended.

Further more had the snake been attended would the outcome have been any different?? I agree the guy is a nutter as the cat was technically in the wrong. Farmers can legally shoot dogs that are worrying their sheep and if the owner of said dog is then found they can be done for it I believe? Have to add I actually own cats myself, and dogs and would happily give my kids hell for going into someone elses property, and have told them if they get into trouble I'll report them myself!
