As a result of the python cat eating incident and the youths attacking 14 year old with a python local MP Kerry McCarthy has a straw poll on her site asking people:
"Given the two recent incidents involving pythons in Bristol, do you think the law should be amended to include them in the Dangerous Wild Animals Act (which would require keepers to have a licence and liability insurance)?" Kerry McCarthy I'm not going to discuss the incidents here (as I know they are the subject of a few other threads) other than to say I have been quite appalled by the amount of ill informed anti snake vitriol that has been stirred up in realation to these incidents.... if you feel strongly please vote... According to the Bristol Evening Post Kerry has written to the government o behalf of the cat owners to seek clarification of the law as it realtes to the python eating their cat... remember that the dangerous dogs act was introduced as an ill concieved piece of knee jerk reaction legisilation.... |
