Default next big thing?

corns, leos and royals have all become stupidly popular due to the huge variety of morphs, but what do you think will be the next big thing???

rainbows, hoggies, and carpets in my opinion
any boas will continue to grow
Each of them are kept in some numbers already, and they will be an explosion of different colour morphs available over the coming years. And when the morphs become available, people tend to be more interested in them.

I doubt retics and burms will ever get big, at least the normal sized ones. i think the dwarf versions do have a chance though. With the laws changing in the US at the moment on burms etc, i think we may see these laws move into many other countries aswell, and this well affect a lot of things. Plus the average person cant keep 20 breeding burms in there house, but you can keep 20 breeding ball pythons in a closet. Size will always control some aspects of the hobby.

I believe that there is a bunch of snakes though, that if a few extra colour combinations were brought in, it could change the popularity overnight.

The one plus side of working these new morphs, in things like rainbows, carpets and hoggies, is that you really do have a blank canvass to work from. Realistically, there are not that many people out there, that can produce brand new exciting ball morphs anymore. I do wonder, if soon ball pythons will get to the point like corn snakes, that when you buy an animals, it could be het for 10 different things. The best thing for the ball pythons, is to have new colours continue to come in, in recent years the toffee, banana, champagnes etc etc, have helped bring a whole new range of colours on the horizon.

Dwarf Boas, Dwarf Retics, Dwarf Burms, Carpets, smaller boas (CRBs, BRBs) and Hognoses. There has been a huge decline in popularity of the Corn Snakes, it's sad because I think they are better snakes than Royals. Better beginner snake anyway.

i think that burms will be the next big thing. if you check out the burm fan club thread you will see that theres alot of hets, double hets and triple hets about. i beleive these will produce some stunning snakes in the next 2 years. with all the hets theres gonna be some really different snakes about.

i will be glad to see the back of royals!! over priced, problematic, fat boring snakes imo.

retics will be big. i think the goldenchild will become cheaper in the next couple of years and the plutoniums and various others. the motleys that bob clark has just produced are stunning!! i think theres a lot more to come from the retic morphslefty

I have to admit though, I've seen more and more people get carpets, ask about carpets and breeding carpets recently. I think they are on the rise.
