Default All a bit confusing...

My king as been on hunger strike for 2 weeks and i've been told various different reasons why she might not be eating all which are sensible and likely. Today when handling her again my hand has been covered in bits of her scales but not whole scales. The bottom of her has gone very pale and light, sort of looks like she could be in shed but she shed only about a month ago and she is 4 years old now. I havent noticed her eyes turn misty or anything and she does look a tad dull but that might just be an illusion if you know what i'm talking about lol. The scales on my hand thing has happened a couple of times before which I don't really see why and today it was the worse of the other 2 times. I'm just wondering is this some sort of thing for their breeding season or is she just in shed or what?

excess scales like this arent because of sloughing cycle....theres a few reasons why it can happen, such as excess scale growth, bad sheds, mites and so on.....its kinda like wearing a new jumper and sometimes you get bits of the wooly stuff on the inside left on it.

2 sets of scales have grown through...one which is the new layer of skin, and one is like bits between the new and old layer that dont conform to any cycle and come off with moving, handling and so on
