I don't think I will need to get Beaux tested for IBD now... There is something strange going on whith his scales. They look mottled, and I remember now it's exactly how Clems went in the weeks coming up to her displaying IBD symptoms (althout that never really concerned me, I didn't think anything of it). When removing Beaux from his viv last night, he twisted his head in a very concerning way. Perhaps it was because I woke him up and he did not have full coordination yet, but I am out of my mind with worry now. I guess if he is starting to show IBD symtoms it's straight off to be euthanised, I will not watch another of my snakes suffer like Clem did

I have actually just checked on him, but he is sitting on his hot shelf so I don't want to disturb him. He is active and very alert as usual, but that head movement scared me to death last night. If he doesnt eat tonight I will know something is horribly wrong, that was another of Clems first symptoms.

I have him booked in for Tuesday with my vet. He dealt with Clementine and I am more than satisfied with how he has handled it all the way through. I'll be getting blood tests done to test for IBD. A negative inclusion result does not mean he does not have inclusions, but a positive result is definite. Clementine results came back positive whilst she was alive for inclusions, which is quite unusual.

Thanks for making this topic. It's been a really big help.
I've known about the Disease but not quite as much as much as I should of. And this topic has helped clear a few things up. Earlier today, I found our Royal.. Fully twisted, with his head upside down.. He's been in his cave the past few days. But finding him all twisted and upside down this morning was a serious blow to the heart. Thanks to this topic I could compare to double check, before I rang the vet. From what the vet says he also thinks it's IBD. Although tests will have to be done once he's put to sleep. But I'm not having it done, mostly due to the cost. He'll be going down there in the next 20 minutes. And although it's sad. I agree with not blaming anyone. Not over something that resides like that. But yeah. I'd really like to thank you for the topic. As it was a big help. Also, I know it sounds a bit cruel but I'll be taking a few pictures of Cookie, and if you'd like you can add the to the first page. More reference pictures are always good. And I'd really like to help anyone else who has to go through something as harsh as this. |
