Default Handling big snakes.

Hi I have just bought a big 6'6 boa.

I have never had a snake as big as this before, so i am wondering if anyone can tell me how i should be handling him as due to the size and weight i dont want to damage him.

Thanks

i like to have them wrap their tail and a bit more around your arm, and then hold up the rest of their body with your other arms.

Default boa

hi
im due to get a boa tom. spoilt for choice where to go though. Am getting one from this years hatchling though cos i think it be great to watch em grow. I held an adult one, well he was about 3, he was a weight and i found i didn,t know how to hold him comfortably. as im only small myself . the chap in the shop said its best to keep there heads away from yours as they can hiss and bite if they get pisd off. all depending on how much they trust you of course.

dont worry mate i still have trouble getting 2 hands around my big python

i wont go into the you shouldnt have brought it a snake that size without hands on experince

to be honest the best advise i can give you is have who ever your buying it off show you how to handle it....as it will need to be done on a regular basis for vivarium maintaince so you must be 100% confident before you take on this animal
