I am pregnant and have a toddler, so am really careful about hygiene with my reps, especially the snakes. Apparently soap doesn't kill salmonella. For this reason I wash with soap as soon as i put the animal back and use an alcohol rub (which does kill salmonella) usually f10. If the little one strokes a rep I was her hands and give her a kids version.

I can condense it for you...

SOME USA BREEDERS SELL INFECTED RODENTS > UK WHOLESALERS BUY CHEAP IMPORT RODENTS FROM USA THAT ARE INFECTED WITH SALMONELLA > END USERS HANDLE INFECTED RODENTS> DIDNT WASH HANDS > GOT VERY SICK -

Moral of story, try not to buy cheap rodents and always wash your hands after touching your snakes dinner.

(P.s im not shouting, just wanted it to stand out, thats what the caps lock button was for before we had forum speak)
