Forgive my ignorance, but are Angolans closely related to Royals.

I'm not a big Royal fan but that snake is gorgoeos yet it does look suspiciously like a Royal

Are Angolans still pretty bad weiner snakes like royals? ie. Do they ball up, hide 24/7 and not eat? Or do they have some cojones?
Edit- They also don't look as chunky as royals, kinda remind me of a cross between them and a bit of carpet pyhonage lol.
Edit again- Lol forgot to say also yeah Nero is actually gorgeous!

Angolans arnt shy or nervous as royals are...some still ball up as babies but Nero hasnt balled up with me and i dont think he will, as soon as im near his tub hes out checking me out.
There also greedy as hell & very hardy...and most of the time they are out on display. they reach around the same length as royals but may get abit chunkier over all.
they are closely related and in the same genus as royals, but are a different species. husbandry wise they are kept pretty much the same as royals are.
one major difference is the appetite which is all they seem to think about lol
problems with obesity are pretty common with this species in captivity (much like that in Bosc monitors) so careful feeding is a must when these guys get older. atm im feeding him a sml mouse once every 7 days but when adult i will slow down his feeds some what, some people i know who has these feed there sub adults / adults a sml rat once every 3 - 4weeks and give them extra exercise to avoid obesity problems
