Exclamation Atricle of Wilbur case in Practicle reptile keeping!!!

Anyone else seen it?
it came through the post this morning.

in all fairness they are putting a good fight for our snakies.
the invetigation details shown clearly show how reptiles are the bottom of the list whein it comes to dangerous pets.

an ivestigation conducted in 2002 shows that
Dogs:- home incidents-3,124 national estimate- 64,063
cats:- home incidents- 732 national estimate- 15,006
equine:- home incidents- 169 national estimate- 3,465
reptiles:- homes incidents- 16 national estimates- 328

it also says that most of the reptile cases are caused by accidents such as stepping of rakes and believeing its a snake and someone cutting them self with sissors while cutting some grass for their iggy!

its also stated in the article that reptiles are also considered the safest pet, after fish.

Chris Newman, from the federation Of Britsh Herpetoculterists states that pythons and boas were rejected from the DWA listing in the last reveiw of the act and "Wilburs demise is unlikely to result in the restrictions of this type of snake"

the whole article has some interesting facts as well as a page further on in the mag with some info on stoping the initial feeding response in snakes every time a hand is put in the viv (as this is talked about in the main article)
as well as some tips on keeping the snake in safe hands so to speak.

Chris newman and the a editors also leave an end note asking readers to support the organisation "which seeks to represent and protect their interests"
the website is

www.f-b-h.co.uk

yet this website has almost nothing on it??
bit of a waste of time i think.

good article thought.

what do you guys think?

thanks,
Jordan

Haven't got a copy yet, I am buying it tomorrow. Sounds like an interesting article though.

The old FBH web site had problems and it was decided to start a new one. The bit you are looking at is just the beginings, it will hopefully grow with time.
