My trick has always been, Pillowcase over hand...deep breath .....and grab. Not elegant alot of the time, granted, but once they are out of the viv they are fine. Only one of my tiawanese has tagged me and they obviously didn't like the taste as they never did it again. Good luck.

He sounds scared of you.
How do you approach him when you want to pick him up? Do you ever use a hook or other tool that isn't your hand to wake him up (gently!) so he is aware you're there? |

Tried wearing gloves or running your hands under cold water before handling so he doesn't feel the warmth from your hands?
When he strikes at you, does he go for your hands, or for your face? |

Too often, and you could be stressing him out. What do you do when he bites you? If you put him away when he bites, he will get the idea that biting makes the handling stop. Just try short, gentle handling sessions once a week and build it up from there?
