how can i tame my rat snake
i got a yellow rat snake 3 months ago he`s 15 month old cb but the only problem is i cant handle him as he to feisty and keeps biting me, i used to hold him daily but now all he does is strike me i been bitten 4 times in the last week alone and if i cant tame him im gonna have to get rid of him ( which i dont want to do) so if anyone got any ideas please let me know.

My trick has always been, Pillowcase over hand...deep breath .....and grab. Not elegant alot of the time, granted, but once they are out of the viv they are fine. Only one of my tiawanese has tagged me and they obviously didn't like the taste as they never did it again. Good luck.

He sounds scared of you.
How do you approach him when you want to pick him up? Do you ever use a hook or other tool that isn't your hand to wake him up (gently!) so he is aware you're there?

Tried wearing gloves or running your hands under cold water before handling so he doesn't feel the warmth from your hands?
When he strikes at you, does he go for your hands, or for your face?
