Default How addictive is keeping Snakes?

I have only 1 at the moment. But i would really like to add a few more to my collection.

How long have people waited after getting there 1st snake to get a 2nd one.

I think i should wait about 6mths and get some experience before i get another one.I also have to convince the wife

HAHAHA, you'll never wait 6 months

I got my first one about 2 months ago (after not having any snakes for about 2 years), already have 3 and am looking at adding at least 1 more pretty soon.

You wait, you'll be thinking about breeding them in no time

Totally agree you'll never last 6 months. I got my first snake in August, promised my hubby no more. have now convinced him to let me another one maybe 2. so i'm on the look out for another.

Totally addictive - we started again, having had a royal a few years ago which I had to give up when I moved, with a diamond x jungle carpet much earlier this year, as my son wanted a snake.

I now have that plus a boa, a royal, and a coastal carpet. We're going to look at another royal later in the week and I'm collecting another coastal carpet Thursday. I'd love another boa, but I'm still trying to wean this one off my fingers.

We're looking at moving house next year, the missus has suggested we look at places with an extra room we can convert to a snakery.
