hi, did look into size, have to say would love a bigger snake than my others & the bullsnake is not too big in my opinion. may have to go see how its doing & have a chat with the owners, good thing is i know them as i go in often & they are always honest & friendly

thats fine just that a lot of people think oh yeah about the same as a corn or a king snake, then get a surprise.

LOl Bulls are great snakes total dustbins but are very noisy and adults do calm down very well but a large colubrid having a major puff can be a bit much if your new to bulls.

Starting with a hatchling is a good idea I find the Bino's one of the calmest.

Gophers also come in the albino form and are smaller and calmer then Bulls so that's always an option

probably wont let on to my partner though gonna be hard enough convincing him another snakes a good idea mind you he doesnt live with me so it could just appear

As said bull snakes are great all noise no action lovely to handle and tame down nice with time

most bulls prefer a cooler temp of about 80f any warmer they get a bit tetchy ..so the shop could be keeping them warmer than needed .....babies are hissy things but do calm down and they tend to be all mouth and no trousers so to speak .....pm ian.g he keeps/breeds bulls and told me all i needed to know

LOl your welcome I got a lot here we have ivory ghosts, blizzards,snows hypo normals and bino's and hybino's and the bino's are by far the calmest my big snow female musk's they do musk LOL but its not to bad a smell having so many i thnk me sense of smell has gone LOL

I do find the gophers calmer we have adult pacific and sonoran and those are very calm
Al stotton on here breeds lots of Gophers

Last in the list is pines thse tend to be sim to bulls I find with the mexican pines being calmer but still hissy

Mines actually quite skittish. He is active but is easily stressed by handling. He also will only drop feed since i've had him. When I move him into his bigger viv in the next couple of months I hope to try doing a bit more work with him.

I've found he doesn't seem to really like being up in the air and is a lot calmer on a flat surface. He's also very very quick when he wants to be. He doesn't hiss much now but still tail rattles pretty much all the time. He's an ace snake though.
