Default describe petty breeders.

could be quite an educational thread for some breeders out there.

what makes a breeder a petty breeder?

is it a breeder selling their livestock to any one even the uneducated?
is it a breeder selling their livestock in bad condition?
is it a breeder selling their livestock without the knowing much about the specie their breeding and giving out incorrect information?
is it a breeder selling their livestock with all of the above?
is it a breeder selling their livestock ......
etc etc.

just write down how you would describe a petty breeder that sells to the public.

one who sells to those with no experience - it creates bad keepers who ruin the reputation of us who are serious about our herps.

One who does no checks that the person they sell to knows what they're buying.

petty means to behave in a childish or immature manner, so I don't see how this applies to breeders, unless of course they turn round and say, i don't like people with black hair, so i'm not going to sell you a snake

IMO a poor breeder would be an unprepared one, and poor SELLER would be one who sells indescrimanetly.

WTF is a "petty" breeder? You haven't used the word in the write context at all.

What do you mean exactly by "uneducated"? In the greater scope of society that would mean someone lacking a decent level of formal education.

Any idiot can come across as convincing. One of your questions is also a paradox.

A 'petty' breeder is a breeder who breeds his animals to be pets, hence 'petty' breeder....

but we're not all uneducated in snakes at first yes we studied the species we where interested in keeping and we could answer basic questions but could you call that educated, i wouldnt have called my self a good knowledgeable keeper till three years in. i'd prefer to ask some if the understand the level of care the animal needs rather then how educated they are on the animal

my idea of a "Petty" breeder/seller is selling to people who dont show understanding for the animal they are buying and selling an animal in bad condition
