One of my favourite 09 females hadn't eaten for months, and i was getting kind of concerned about her.
Picked up a tin of sainsburys economy chicken soup this morning, thawed a pinkie and soaked in the soup, bang, she took it as soon as it hit the ground

Well done! another one to try then. i've heard some funny scents required to get snakes eating, rats brains, fish guts, snail slime lol
But how do we know it was the scent and not that they just decided they are going to eat this time.

Just wanted to say good luck mate, it is sooooo frustrating when a snake won't feed.

Washing the pinkie before you scent can help.
Removes the rodent smell.

Shes still not eaten. I put her back in a smaller container with aspen bedding, water bowl and a pinkie hotdog water scented tucked away in a toilet role cardboard tube and left her all day. The aspen had been shifted quite a bit, looks like shes been trying to get out all day.

The only scenting that has ever worked for me with hoggies is hard boiled egg white. Offer a piece of hard boiled egg white on its own. If yours takes this then repeat for teh next feed, after that wash a defrosted pink, rub the pink all over the egg white and offer it with a piece of egg white on the head. You should find that the snake will take the pink, then its just a case of reducing the size of the egg white until you use egg-scented pink, then reduse the scenting until you offer a defrsoted, unscented pink.

I've tried the chicken soup scented pinkie and also a piece of mouses tail tonight and it didn't work, I'll leave them in overnight but i'm not hopeful. I'll try hard boiled egg white next. I've tried scenting a pinkie with hard boiled egg before, think it was the yoke that i scented with but cant remember, i'll try the egg white on its own.
Thanks

Its now been 6 weeks since she ate
