Default Hoggie wont eat

Hi Folks, can anyone help please?

I have a baby western hognose, she last fed 18 days ago and was about 11g empty 12 g full, shes now 10g. I was away for a week and took her to my brothers to be looked after which obviously has upset her, brought her back home on saturday. Shes refusing her pinkies, I've tried scenting with tuna water, hard boiled egg and braining, normally she just takes it straight away. Ive got her in a tiny container at the moment with a scented pinie but shes not interested. What should I try next?

Shes been back home for a week, the heat matt is under 1/3 and is at 83°F, ambient room temp at other side. She was kept at same temp at my brothers, I took her to my brothers in her faunarium so she was kept the same at his, just cooled down for the hour drive between my house and his.

I would leave your her for another week and try again. Hoggies can be extremely fickle. When i first got my hoggie he never ate for around 3 months, then started feeding every week without fail. Now he has decided to eat during the night. Next time you feed try late at night, throw the pinkie in and leave overnight.

you can have a high of 88f with a hoggies as long as you have a decent cool end, 83 is a bit low and with the weather changing she may get a bit cool. the 2g weight loss is just the emptiness, nothing to worry about. Let her settle with higher temps and try lay feeding her overnight.

Give her plenty of time to settle back down. Only try feeding aleast every 3 days, I'd advise a longer period. There is loads of information regarding problem feeders so have a good look on the forum. Most importantly don't let it stress you out. They can go a long time without food.

my little male hadn't ate since the beginning of august, he finally ate a pinkie this week.

I too had tried loads of methods, this week I removed his water bowl for a couple of days prior to feeding, then offered a dripping wet pinkie. I left it in over night, and in the morning it was gone.

This maybe worth a try.
