Default anacondas.... soaking pool or no soaking pool

well there is allot of clashing opinions on this and i think its about time its discussed properly, (asfar as i am awere of there isnt an existing thread on this)

do u think anacondas should have a soaking pool or not??

what are your reasons/personal experience for or against??

i personally provide my yellow with a soaking area, but i must admit it is a pain to change it frequently, especially when u have to lift a grumpy annie out to do it.

so what is you guys view on this??

i think it's alright when they're young but way too much hastle when they're big, just not worth the trouble as it's not as hygenic when you have a water source that large. also there is more of a chance of scale rot as they WILL soak everything in sight after they soak.

When there younger it's fine if daily cleaning & changing but when adults a big no no for the obvious reason it becomes to difficult and the risk of bacterial infections. it's so much safer and healthier without one

Personally No, will let them have a nice soak in the bath on clean out day it's just not practicle and will be one hell of a chore these snakes can get massive. adult yellows i wouldnt have so much of a problem letting them soak now and then but it's not really needed.

no they clog up instantly as soon as it shits in the water. face it, big water bowls for soaking are not a good idea at all.

Id say its a big no no! I lost a big male green to infection years ago due to its pool even tho i did daily water changes. They only really use water to help them hunt and to support their mass but it is not essential for survival. If humidity is kept between 65-80% via a good daily mist then they will thrive. If a pool is used then it will need to be hooked up to a bio filtration system (expensive kit) and will still need regular water changes.
