Mate if you search co housing snakes you will find mulitple threads regarding this subject. But personaly no its not ok too many risks if you ask me keep them seperate unless you plan on breeding and then only co house for a suitable amount of time then seperate

I personally would not house them in the same viv.

I do not know of a single problem that a solo-housed snake can have that would be solved by moving another snake into the cage.

However, I know of quite a few problems that can happen to snakes that live together that can be completely avoided and/or prevented by keeping them separate - cannibalism, competition for resources, transmission of disease, potential feeding problems....

hi hun!

this is one of those subjects that can end up in a huge debate unnecessarily!!!

Really not a good idea.... and not something I would do with any of my snakes. However - I do have 2 adult boas together.... that were given to me, as brother and sister who had lived together since birth, and they are now about 6 years old. I have never been able to seperate them despite the fact that I don't house any other snakes together, and don't agree with it. It is a huge pain in the arse when it comes to feeding, and last week when one got an RI.... obviously its 2 boas to treat and not one.

So really its just not an option for me to seperate them now even if it is against my better judgement.

I personally think it's a bad idea.

If you search for cohabiting then you'll find plenty of information about it!

It's a very emotive subject on the forum though!

your right there with this being a massive debate on here, sorry hear about the RI - sorted now?

regarding keeping snakes together, i know alot of people are against it and think its bad idea, i keep corns together and dont have any problems at all and will continue to do so untill otherwise,

Its up to the person really just a different way of keeping snakes everyone has there own ways, as long as not putting the snakes at harm and they are healthy then i see no problems just have to consider size of the viv is it big enough to house two snakes, are the snakes roughly same size and same species and not canabalistic and there sex and age dont wanna be putting a male with a female that isnt ready to breed and its a must to feed seperatly

I don't think it is a bad idea and I have co-housed many different morelia sp with no issues.

A pair of jungles IMO will be fine, two males on the other hand will not be - the only real problem that could arise for a pair would be competition for food which can easily be sorted by placing one in a RUB and feeding it there whilst the other gets fed in the viv.

I am currently keeping my het granites with my granite female and my DJJ with a coastal jag and a diamond cross and all are as happy as Larry.

At the end of the day it all boils down to your confidence in yourself and your snakes. If you don't have the confidence in knowing that they will be ok in all situations then don't do it.
