Default Visited School's Royal Today

Today I visited the Royal that I asked for help about a few weeks ago. I went along to watch it feed, and ended up having to feed it myself.

I gave them some advice origionally, so they changed the rediculously oversized food to mice pinks/pups. I've moved his diet back to the right food now, and showed them how to feed it properly. Origionally they defrosted the mouse then left it in a bowl for the snake to eat! No wonder it's been constantly refusing the food!

They put a layer of substrate down, which is good.

A heat mat has also been added, but instead of under the log, it is propped up against the wall. They have done 'a lot of research' since I first heard of this, and 'it is best for the snake that way. Just because I have a snake doesn't mean I know best'.

It's on the way to recovery, though, and I think this is a good step forward.

Nice mate, was this the royal being kept by the science department that didn't have a clue what they were doing?

still sounds retarted to me.Would it be possible to get your parents to have a word with them?
They have no right to lecture you like that, especially when you're right.
Did you manage to get them to move the heat mat underneath?..Poor thing must be freezing to death.

Good of you to try and help, but why would you do this? - A Royal hatchling wouldn't even need food this small. You'd be surprised what they can eat.

I would agree, try and up the size of the prey a little if it is eating, if not maybe stick to the small size till you can get it eating

I didn't do this!

I told them the food was too large a while ago, so THEY went and changed it to pups. NOT ME! I wouldn't dream of it. I've got him back on the right diet now - OFF THE PUPS.

Also, the heat mat is now underneath the log.
