Default royal not interested

ive got a 1600g female royal and a 600g male royal that i wanted to breed

ive followed all the steps up to now and had no issues but now i have put them in together he just doesnt seem interested.

could it be that he is intimidated by her size???

any ideas would be great cos id love to get these two bred this year

thanks in advance

chilly

It doesn't always happen when you want, it can take time...

...also it's still early in the season like to the point a lot of breeders haven't even started and are waiting for decemberish time.

It's up to you, personally i've not bothered because females won't have mature follicles yet so sperm is sorta being wasted...but girls can store it too.

he certainly wont be put off by the females size...

as rachel suggested, leave for a while and try again
i'm not introducing my lot til xmas/new year time

if nothing happens then, might be an idea to get the boy re-sexed...

I put a couple of my royals together a few days ago and he wasn't interested but she was all over him. 3 days later I found them in a lock.
