Genetics.

Black-eyed leucistics come from the Fire locus (which may have two or three different alleles - Fire, Sulfur and something else?).

Blue-eyed leucistics come from the "white snake" locus (which has at least half a dozen alleles - butter, lesser, mojave, phantom, russo het leucy, mystery-dilute-hidden-special-daddy and het NERD Gargoyle - and there may well be more).

If it's a mojave x mojave BEL it will have a greyish head, and possibly yellow blotches. fire x fire creates cleaner Bkel than the mojave I believe, but it may still have some yellow blotches.Lesser x lesser for BEL is supposed to be 'cleanest' I think.

That's the problem with BEL.

Do you mean BlueEL or BlackEL ?

Mojave doesn't make a BlkEL. Fire doesn't make a BluEL.

Difference in genes.

Black eyed lucy comes from ( i think ) a fire x fire pairing

Blue eyed lucy comes from a mojave to a lesser platty

Again my geneolgy isnt the best so i could be completely wrong

Is the het russo white diamond compatible with mojave, butter etc. i.e. can it make a BeL if the two are bred together?
