HA im now officially going. will try to con the lads into going to the pub.. not too sure it will be that much of a struggle

Well I'm not going to the show but like I said I do only live around the corner. It just depends on what everyone else wants to do.

Anyone heading back up the M6 between 4-6pm it is normally really really busy between junction 11-14

my OH and kids are dropping me off at rodbaston and then going to this pub Catch Corner - Stafford* Staffordshire and i will be meeting them there when i get bored/thirsty. family friendly too as i know some poor suckers have to take the family ( yes, i am one of them!). apparently its just a 5 minute drive from the college.

It is literally just off juction 13 M6 its a two for one pub can make it there if you like as it would be ideal for those going back up the M6

good idea but what about those going down the m6 and not up.

The pub is literally on the motorway you can get onto the M6 north bound or south bound. If your at Rodbaston college and are heading south it is quicker to get on at this junction than heading down to juntion 12

That particular pub is just off the island at J13 on the M6 - about three miles away. You also have to drive straight past four pubs in the village of Penkridge (a two minute drive from college!) and there are five others in the village just off the main road. There is also another about 1 minutes drive from college in the other direction!

However - none of them have a fun factory - so that's probably your best bet for the kids!


As for the rest of us....dunno.

I doubt the George and Fox will be open (sporadic opening at the mo), I think the Spread Eagle will be busy - but is the closest. The Littleton is the posh one and the The Railway, White Hart and Horse and Jockey are traditional pub pubs, but probably all a little small for a big gathering!


I'm pretty sure the Spread Eagle is the traditional post show meeting point, but I think last year some were thrown out for getting snakes out in the pub.....
