For the OP, the problem can be resolved with a brief e-mail saying sorry for the evangelical reply. I'm sure spreading some love will make everyone happy!

But it also annoys me how some people discourage kids from keeping snakes, frogs and so on,,,,come on,how many of use used to pond dip tadpoles as kids and keep them in jamjars....never did us any harm...and the kids that wanna do it are discouraged and the other half dont care about our own wildlife but just want HET this and 66% that
you dont need to tell me about WC mate...i totally agree, all the parasite treatments, getting them acclimatised, getting them feeding etc...i totally agree with you!...and i take my hat off to you , i have not really dealt with many WC reptiles myself...few royals, the odd lizards here and there over the years...but yeah as you say they are a different kettle of fish to most CB...but without them there wouldn`t be any CB....

on the second point i also 100% agree!...the amount of tadpoles, frogs, newts, slow worms, grass snakes and common lizards i kept when i was a kid is unreal!...i never kept them that long...and would let them go....but its what really sparked my interest into the hobby! not seeing a rainbow coloured royal or corn lol....although i do like certain morphs etc obviously, but to me it`s still just a royal, burm, bull, corn etc with a pretty paint job ......listen to us getting all sentimental and soppy eh!

His reply was a bit rude, but TBH you asked for it!

Wildlife is what got me into animals, which led to reptiles in time. How boring would a childhood without pondipping, catching frogs and long walks in the country?

completely agree mate, i was lucky enough to also grow up in france ,,,,i used to catch hermann torts, fire sallies ,ladder snakes .wall lizards and all sorts...plus the great stuff we have over here....there is NOTHING more thrilling than the first ever grass snake you catch...and that feeling never ever leaves you.

This is hollie....she caught her own frog....we weighed it...and with my help we wormed it the correct dosage and then she picked out the correct enclosure and then weaned it onto crickets after giving it worms from my wormery.

she kept "marcus" for 3 weeks and then let him go so he could hibernate in time.....i think we need to encourage this more often.

shes also only 4 and did most of all this on her own

aww bless her!...see thats like my middle daughter Hayley, she has 3 corns of her own (all morphs! lol) but she is great with them! she has been strike feeding them for a year now, and has only just turned six...she has absolutely no fear at all of any animals (except really big spiders lol) but she shows remarkable respect for them too, my eldest daughter isn`t into them at all really...but then thats just because she wants to be like her mum ...and the youngest daughter i am in the process of training her up ....

......or, as has been my experience in a number of cases, run to the back of the room squealing like girls at the first sign of a chile rose..or in one case a large corn snake was enough to see the biggest, cockiest lad of them all literally run out the classroom. Luckily though, in every case the other 30 odd students couldn't get enough of them!

I just found out today that a science class has a lizard and a snake at our school...This is good, it will educate some of the idiots in fenland, but I could bet the set up and everything is wrongI'll have a moan if it is though
