Default Refreezing mice

I have a block of pinkies that is a pain in the butt to separate could I slightly defrost them and separate them a bit, then freeze them, so that they're still usable?

I've never been to sure about this, people say not to do it but people for years have been saying not to re-freeze meat but that is a myth.

if you keep an eye on them and break them apart as soon as possible then they wouldnt actually be fulled thawed out, then keep out what you need and chuck others back in freezer before they defrost

They often stick together like this when they have been slightly defrosted and refrozen so personally the whole bunch would be in the bin as when they are frozen by the supplier they are frozen in such a way and at such speed they dont stick together or at most you have two stuck together.

The reason for not defrosting even part way is it gives the bacteria a chance to multiply even when done in a fridge but this just slows it down so when you refreeze you are freezing more bacteria that have already been feeding on the mouse and then defrosting again allowing more time for bacteria to breed and feed and then feeding that to your snake, lovely.

as well as the bacteria thing, or rather because of it, decomposation of the mouse starts. This leads to a build up of gas, particularly in the gut. This in turn makes the mouse more fragile and more likely to pop open. Have had this happen a couple of times, just messy.
