Default BRBs housed together?

Hi guys I have 2 females and 1 male BRB. They are all about 3.5-4ft long. I'm going to keep the male seperate for obvious reasons but is there any reason I couldn't put the 2 females in together? Just though I'd ask as it saves buying another viv and saves electricity too! Cheers

Many, including how do you know who's defaecated? If one gets ill, they both get ill, contesting for space(they're not cuddling), if you get a regurge, how do you know which one etc etc.

Yes, there are several reasons why it's not adviseable to house them together. For starters, they are soliary animals; living with another can cause stress and subsequently issues with feeding, health, etc. Keeping snakes together can allow for the transmission of diseases and will make it difficult for you to tell who is ill if you find signs of illness in the viv.

In short, I wouldn't do it; it's understandable you want to save space etc, we all do, but having multiple animals means being able to provide a proper environment for each one.

So much more diplomatic.

Yeah I was just asking because I've seen it done many, many times with other species (especcially corns!). Just wondered why not with BRBs.

In all honesty it shouldn't really be done with corns either. Co-habbing is something that, if it is to be done, should be left only to the experienced keepers. Often people will say they co-hab with no problems but in fact they're just not spotting the problems that are present.

To add to this, a negative result can never be called conclusive, it may just mean that a major problem hasn't arisen YET.

As has been said it's not advised but some people do it without any problems. They're your snakes, up to you if you want to risk it.
