Hi guys.
As the title suggests, my small corn snake swallowed a wood chip yesterday whilst eating a mouse.
I know alot of you will say “don’t feed her in the viv” etc, but this one simply refuses to eat when outside of the vivarium.
She’s only small, about 3 months old, so the woodchip was quite large in her throat, i came back in the room to see the mouse halfway down, as normal, and a lump just under her “chin”, about 1cm down from her head.
I took her out, and started to massage the chip back up towards her head, and my OH pulled it out with tweezers (After about 20 minutes of struggling).
I’m expecting her to regurgitate the pinkie, due to all the handling... But is there anything else you can suggest doing? She seems fine for now, we just left her to go to sleep...
Do you think it is worthwhile taking her to the vets? Or just see how it goes?
The woodchip just had some yellowish liquid on it when it was taken out (Bile?), and no blood at all.
Needless to say, I was worried all evening
