Default Coastal carpet

Hey guys. Thinking about adding a coastal carpet to the collection, but since I've never kept one of these before was just looking for some background information on them. I have to live in rented accommodation for the next year and a half and ideally would like it to not be huge by then, so can anyone give me an idea of what size to expect if I picked up a CB10? I'm also curious about whether I could house it in a rub for a while, and the best heating for it? I've had experience with carpets before, and a fair few holes in my fingers from juveniles, but any info would be appreciated.

I house my babies in rubs to start on a thermostated heat mat, but then they move into vivs at around 12 months old.
My room is heated, and each viv has a heated floor area to provide a 'ht spot' but for a normal set up i'd suggest a caged ceramic on a thermostat as the best heating.
Mine are all kept on either old newspaper or 'chipshop' paper.
Branch off one of my apple trees for climbing.
Water bowl.
Be prepared for the potential large size of Coastals.
HTH.

A Coastal could easily be pushing 6ft by 18 months old,, and they like a lot of room to climb, so it may be best to wait for a while.

Ah roger that. I would definitely like a bigger style snake, and carpets seem fairly ideal. What about smaller species, someone just message'd me and they have jungle jag hatchlings.

Well jungle jags are part coastal so could still get quite big, although most dont. Something like that would most likely stay smaller.

An irian jaya could be housed in RUBs for the first 1 1/2-2 years or so.

I was thinking about something that would end up getting larger than an IJ in the long run. I'm thinking either carpet or a nice BCI. With regards to housing, how do they cope with larger houses from young? I wouldn't mind getting a viv that will house them for the next 18 months or 2 years or so, as a wooden viv would help me counter the temperature issues in my house. Do carpets generally stress with too much space, or can they cope?
