Default Dont think it can happen to you.....?

Well it happened to us last night, brucie the corn snke has just been moved into his new viv, he seemed to be enjoying it came down this morning checked on him but couldnt see him, just put it down to burrowing, but i had a feeling in the pit of my belly something wasnt right.....

so i removed his hide......nothing.

removed decor..........nothing

had a looksee under the substrate.......NOTHING!!!!!

gut feeling was right! but i was sure the viv was secure!! anyway the lil had escaped

we searched everywhere we could all lil gaps dark spots, cut multiple massive holes in the bottom of our 3 piece suit, systimatly worked out from the viv looking everywhere

panicing becuse there was (its blocked up now) a hole in the corner tht led under the floor and possibly outside, last place we had to move the TV stand the wife had said no he wsnt there then moved the extension lead to put it back and there he was tangled in the wires covered in dust!!!!

so happy to have found him nearly 2hrs of searching, im now going to work on brucie proofing his viv gve us a right scare

so if you dont think it could happen to you.......it quite possible bloody well could!!

Lucky yoyu found her!
It can happen to any of us! My king got out, I had put the lock on but not locked it and I found her trying to get into one of the corn vivs!

Closest I've come to losing one is when my baby corn sneaked off and hide inside one of my speakers for a few hours. Was there for ages with a pinky trying to get her out. Gave up in the end, placed the speaker inside her viv and left the pinky in there.

She came out eventually

A friend of mine had this happen to him when he moved his corn to a viv, only explanation was the gap between the two pieces of glass!

He found it in a shoe later on

Lol. We had a corn end up in a speaker... Except ours is 5.5ft ish
Don't quite know how she packed herself in there, but we had to dismantle it to get her back!!

Same thing happened to me. I had moved my corn to a new viv and had planned to wire it all up the next day because it was getting late. Got up the next morning and he had gone, must have climbed up the wire and out of a hole at the top I hadn't snake proofed properly.

Found him in about 15 seconds, I pulled the couch out and he was lieing between 2 photo frames that were propped up against the wall. Needless to say his tank is now bomb proof and he isn't getting out no more. Pretty glad he didn't move far though, had he gone under the door into the kitchen my terriers would have savaged him.

Glad you got him back though it's a horrible feeling thinking they could have got out of the house.
