Default Shocking, graphic picture (Warning for ball python lovers)

Hi everyone,

I was looking for information about horned frogs, on a frog forum, and came across a picture off a (I believe it's a Cane toad, but I'm not sure) frog that's eating a ball python.
The person who placed the picture (Ed clark), explained that the ball python was a non-feeder and was going to be put down anyway.

I'm a ball python owner, so I felt quite uncomfortable, looking at this frog. But otherwise (if a snake would eat a frog), I would feel the same...

I have borrowed the picture (hope the owner doesn't mind), and would like to know how everyone else feels about this;

Maybe an idea whilst cleaning out to not put them near each other

Borrowed from another forum

Regards Max

think it's quite harsh, did they even try to get it to feed?

i mean if every thing was tried live feeds, assisted, forced and still nothing and it died, it supose it would be ok to feed it to an other animal. save it going to wste if you like.

but i don't agree feeding it live to the frog, seem like they just couldn't be bothered with it and thought sod it fed it to the frog i can't be assd to get a mouse out.

its an animal eating an animal...............shock, horror.

snakes eat frogs, frogs eat snakes, snakes eat snakes, snakes eat lizards, lizards eat snake...........

This thread is obviously going to provoke a reaction.

Anyone want a sweepstake on how many posts before the toad owner is insulted?

well its nature and just as some people don't agree with feeding live rats/mice to snakes i suppose this is no different.

it is horrible though i couldn't personally feed a snake to a frog but some people can if it was me i would have given the royal more of a chance but the person who owns the frog decided its time was up but atleast it was used for a purpose it could have been worse they could have just left it to starve and suffer

I know animals eat animals but the royal dosnt look very skinny and id give it 3-5 not eally the reaction im looking for each to their own but id rather have the royal put to sleep personally and im presuming the royals live as its curled around the frogs head

I can see why some people would be upset by this, but its wat animals do...eat each other! at least that snake has served a purpose, and the owner hasnt shoved the snake in a freezer!
