Default Looking for reputable shop

Hi
I haven't kept snakes in a long time but am considering getting a snake at some point this year. I'm doing loads of research now but what I'd really like is personal recommendations of shops that would be able to give me quality advice and back-up... I'm based in Herts. Can anyone recommend a real quality reptile specialist within a reasonable distance?
Thanks for reading

In all honesty m8, you'll get better advice on this forum, than most "reputable reptile shops". Don't get me wrong there are some cracking reptile shops, with staff that really know their stuff, but you will get better advice and cheaper snakes on this forum.

Years ago I bought from shops as there really wasn't anywhere else to buy from and shops were far and few between too which didn't help, now though there are plenty of good shops around the country and some amazing shops too. That said I would still get advice and buy from only one shop owner because he is local and well known as being at the top of his game.

Now comes the but, there are some great people on here with varying knowledge and backgrounds and there are also lots of snakes for sale at sensible prices and whilst I am an advocate of a particular shop I have in fact only ever bought one snake from them and the rest of our collection from people on this forum and a couple of others.

Basically I guess what I am saying is that you might have more luck using this forum to get advice or even to find the right snake for you from a member on here, from my very limited experience of this place it is friendly enough for the most part and I am sure you will find someone that suits your needs and wants.

Good luck and so on......

The nearest to you will be Ameyzoo on Bovingdon Highstreet.

You will find that the price of a snake will be much cheaper from a private breeder though.
