put it this way it has been known to kill over long periods of time ive known people that have used shavings for years and got away with it but i personally wouldnt risk either

I'm suprised they can sell it then.
I've always used orchid bark and never had a problem, do certain snakes react differently?

its like smoking....my nieghbour smoked from 14-88 years and never got cancer.

Thanks to you both for giving me this info I will stop using it, is there anything similar thats safe and also hold humidity except eco earth? I have use it for so long I have never really looked into anything else.

Yep i use crushed coconut...100% coconut, its freeze dried,vacuum packed and boiled so free from nasties aswell

iv got a bag of coconut but iv never used it coz it looks really dusty

Erm, moss? I think eco-earth is that humus thing too.

I think its the dust and fumes from the pine can mess with snakeys breathing, windpipe, lungs etc. Not nice.

I'm quite suprised no ones mentioned cedar, from what I've read/heard that can be pretty dangerous too.
