Making vivs

How is it done? I assume it's not just 4 bits of wood and glue it together
What I wanted to know is like what wood what gluey stuff and just how? :P

There are a few ways to do them mate, depends on what wood you have, what tools you have access to and how easy/hard you wana make it?

for 'dry' vivs it's pretty easy. Go along to your local shop and have a look how they are constructed.
If you want to do it yourself, use contiboard which b+Q and others will cut to size for you. Just glue/screw it all together. put a back on and a plinth and glass runners etc.
Google has links to several guides to show you how it's done./

Like the man said before about how hard u want to make it as I done it with MDF and its not good to use, if you want to make a good lasting viv make it out of conti-board and its sealed already and is less likely to rot/mold if you glue it and seal the edges right... not as easy as it looks LOL.... hope it helps a bit...

I do it as above but use 9mm ply which I prefer to work with. It is more work with sanding it and varnishing.

I've just finished a 4 stack, 3 feet wide x 2 feet deep x 1.5 feet high out of a wardrobe from B&Q, dead cheap and dead easy.

They have a good range of woods including contiboard in that store, not too dear and they will cut it to size.
