u got ur answer but also i now think digital thermometers are a bit naff
better than dials but still naff
i can get rubs and vivs showing temps of 40C or maybe 29-30 yet i use in infra red gun and prove em well wrong , or maybe its the gun  
no , the guns shown to be consistent , im losing trust big time in other stuff though
