yeah, definately. get a grown on carpet (youngsters are pretty nippy, but grow out of it), just as docile, much better feeders, more active, more inquisitive, much more fun to handle and they actually have personalities

A dwarf boa (or a male, if you don't mind it getting a bit bigger) would also be a good option. A bite from a 3-4 foot dwarf isn't going to hurt as much as a bite from a beardie; they aren't particulaly fast, chilled out to handle, and usually great feeders.

Default adding onto this post

well.... after seeing many royals we visited dave from welsh reptile breeders this evening.

firstly what a really nice, knowledgeable guy. couldnt do enough for us. and amazing reptiles.

we came home with cuttie..

i havent held him yet but i did touch him...



would soooo highly recommend dave.

I think CRB's are one of the best beginer snakes about TBH
They rarely bite, don't grow very big, I have never come across a poor feeder, easy to handle and easy to keep.

Nice snake. Recommend leaving him for a week or so to settle in with no handling though, always good to get off on the right (feeding) foot with royals!
